Be The Rainbow

“Be a rainbow in someone else’s cloud.”
-Maya Angelou

For those of you who don’t know, LeVar Burton started a Kickstarter campaign to relaunch Reading Rainbow for the kids of today and help cash-strapped schools get free access to it. In their first day, they exceeded their primary goal of a million dollars, as seen in the above video. (Do watch it. Your feels will thank you.)
However, there’s still 31 days to go on the Kickstarter and, if they meet their stretch goals, that’s 6000 more schools that’ll get free access to this amazing, iconic educational program dedicated to increasing literacy in America, which lags behind just about every other developed nation in that department.
Do it for your fond childhood memories. Do it for your kids. Do it for someone else’s kids. Do it for the future of the country/the world/English literature. Do it for a sweet Reading Rainbow tote bag. Do it for LeVar Burton. I mean look at that face. Look how happy y’all made him. Good work, guys. Let’s keep it up.
